The Rwandese community in Zambia, led by Amnesty International, staged a protest march at the Human Rights Commission offices in Lusaka on Friday 13th January 2012, demanding voluntary repatriation.

The Human Rights Commission has expressed concern at the recent spate of labour unrests in the country following the September 20 elections which ushered in the new Patriotic Front Government.

The Human Rights Commission conducted inspections of prisons and police cells in Lusaka Province between 13th September and 19th October 2011.
