Twenty-four (24) officers from the Zambia Police Victim Support Unit were trained by HRC during a workshop recently held in Lusaka from 9th to 11th September.

The training emphasized professionalism in the performance of the service for which the police officers were employed, including the handling of vulnerable groups especially victims of torture, women, children, refuges and non-nationals.

HRC Vice Chairperson, Mr. Palan Mulonda, commended the police for exhibiting professionalism despite working under difficult circumstances.

He said HRC will work systematically to help address the challenges faced by the police.

VSU Director, Mr. Kasale, urged the officers to serve with dedication.
